EVOLV

EVOLV is our digital-twin framework for the water-treatment plants. Think of it as the missing link between two worlds that today barely talk to each other:

  • the PLCs — the industrial controllers on-site that physically switch the pumps, valves and blowers on and off, and
  • the ICT — our databases, models and dashboards in the data centre.

The PLCs are fast and reliable but “dumb”: they only do exactly what they were programmed to do. The IT side is smart — it can forecast, optimise and learn — but it lives far from the machines and can’t act in the moment. EVOLV sits in between and runs in real time. Every treatment step (a pump, a reactor, a settler…) is mirrored as a software node that follows along live with its real-world counterpart.

Because that live mirror exists, we can compute and decide things on the running plant that neither the PLC nor the IT system could do on their own — smarter, energy-aware control that reacts to what is actually happening right now.

The framework is built entirely in-house, which is why it carries no external budget. Each node below has its own savings prognosis and its own people; this main track simply shows the totals.
